Author Cachet Wells was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida . She is a freelance writer and published author, her writings focus on inspiration and empowerment while Wells uses her experiences in illness, heartache and adultery to impart encouragement through an intimate relationship with Christ. She is the founder of Women Of Righteous Distinction whose central purpose is to encourage, empower and educate women to live a life that is spiritually rooted in Christ and represents the virtuous woman of God they are created to be.


What makes you powerful as a person and a writer? The things that make me powerful as a person and a writer would be strength and faith. The ability to know that God has empowered me beyond my ability with his strength impact lives. Using the lessons that I’ve learned and the things I’ve encountered through illness, pain, heartache and adultery to help others remain committed to faith in God, stand firm in God and trust in His promises that they may become a better person through wiser choices. Choosing to be lead in all things by my faith in God and choosing to live the life I speak of by the steps that I make. The faith that keeps me fulfilled, sustained and committed to do that which He alone has purposed me to do for His glory. Powered by the inner strength that I’ve gained by choosing to be the victim no more.    


How much of what you write reflects on your outlook on life?The issues, concerns and reflections that are expressed in my writings are a compilation of my outlook on life, the perceptions viewed through my heart and a direct insight of how they are revealed to me through my faith in Christ. Totally sold on the fact that nothing happens by accident or coincidence, but the strategic move of the Master who has ultimately created us for a specific purpose to be accomplish in a time of His own choosing. Everything that we go through, encounter and are thrusted into is because there is something for us to accomplish in it, so everything I write is a true reflection of how I view it in my life.

Who are your mentors? Where do you find your inspiration?I find guidance through my parents and my spiritual mentors that assist and encourage me to be true to the directed leading of God in my writings. Being inspired by my family, friends and ministry to unveil the issues that affect us as Christians are the most important motivators for me.


What three elements complete a formula for Happiness, Success or Freedom?Love, Peace and Faith are three elements that are essential to living a life complete with happiness, success and freedom. Love allows us to unconditionally look for the good in all. Loving others regardless to what they do or don’t do because Christ did the same tor me when I didn’t feel the need to do so. Peace gives me the assurance to know that in spite of what things look like, feel like or are perceived to be I still have that inner strength of assurance that all is well. Faith that keeps me sustained in all situations and obstacles that may arise in my life. Fulfilled by the promises of God to be what I need, when I need Him to be and that He’s the one that will empower me to overcome and succeed.

What are two major events taking place in Eyes Of The Heart ?Two of the major events taking place in this book from my own personal experience, which is what I want readers to go away with are Forgiveness and Healing. When someone has wronged us forgiving them is not for them, but for us. It is that which ignites the beginning of the healing process. It aids in releasing the pain and hurt of what has happened to us. Healing which is a continual process to restore us back to a place of peace, joy and love so that God get all the glory.


What specific situation or revelation prompted you to write your book?What prompted me to write this book was my personal experience through illness, pain, heartache and adultery. Learning how to now live my life as a wife, mother and stay committed to my faith as a disabled woman taught me how to be strong against the odds of what people thought I could was one motivator. Finding out that after 15 years of marriage my husband had been secretly been unfaithful to me which lead to months of abuse because of it was my greatest motivator. Deciding that I could no longer sit and be the victim, but see myself overcoming it for not just me but for my kids became that which pushed me into purpose by fighting for me.


Who do you want to reach with your book, Eyes Of The Heart  and the message within?This is book is for all those who have been affected my love, pain, hurt, heartache, illness, infidelity or abused. Those who have been silent about their  burdens and things that have oppressed them so much to feel like they have no voice. Those who have been quiet so long that they can’t imagine seeing themselves overcoming that which has had them silent and bound.


What are some of their specific issues, needs or problems addressed in this book?Many of the writings in this book cover issues with family, Christian living, Illness, Marriage, Adultery, Children and Faithfulness to your relationship with Christ.  Recognizing that when we put God first in our lives all the other things that are important to us will line up.


How will reading your book shape the readers lives? The author entices readers to journey with her as the chains of the oppressor are removed, burdens lifted and the healing begins. What was the most powerful message in the book?One of the most powerful messages is “Like Mary” because it is a true testament of how we should be totally surrendered to the Lord. Regardless to where we are, whose around or what the reason for being in a particular place, God is first and we should respect, honor and worship Him for that. When we give ourselves totally to Him, He will forever give himself unto us in whatever capacity we need Him.

 

What do you think makes your book different from others on the same subject?Openly allowing myself to be truthful of personal experiences that I endured so that others could see that they were not alone in the things they too are dealing with. This book takes you through a journey so with every page I wanted to make an impact on the lives of those who would read it. The messages and design of the book makes it different than any other.


Ultimately, what do you want readers to gain from your book?The ultimate goal that I want readers to gain from “Eyes of the Heart” is to self awareness of themselves. Realizing that they are worthy of living a life full of happiness not just through the eyes of Christ, but their very own.

When Daddy's Girl is Disciplined

I am unabashedly a daddy's girl.  It is not that my dad had a lot of time to spend with me - he didn't.  Rather, the time he spent with me was meaningful.  Even when I had to be disciplined as a child, I knew that he still loved and accepted me.

I remember one time getting in trouble for riding my bike to MacArthur Park in spite of the fact that I had been told not to do so.  MacArthur Park was the hang-out.  It was the place where all the teenage  kids and teenage wanna-bes went and played music,  leaning coolly on their Camero Z28's talking to girls.  It was the place I wanted to go.

I convinced my little brother, Vadrick, to come with me.  Five years younger than me, he did almost anything I said. So we got on our bikes, and off we sailed.   

Of course, I wasn't going to stay.  I just wanted to ride through and be seen.  I wanted someone to say, "I saw Karia riding through MacArthur Park on Sunday.  Did you see her?" 

I wanted a brief brush with cool. 

We sped down the street together, stirring up the leaves from the tree-lined sidewalks.   As we approached, I pumped my pedals harder, working up my speed so I could cruise effortlessly around the bend where I would make my grand entrance.  The wind whipped my blue blazer as I floated through the sunny September afternoon.  When I rounded the corner, I could hear the booming bass of the popular Marvin Gaye song resonating through the kid-packed park, "Let's get it on...oooh, baby.  Let's get it on." 

I glanced at Vadrick, "We are just going to ride through, okay?"   "Okay," he replied.

I coasted across the grass, through the parking lot, around the park, and out the other side.  As I disappeared into the neighboring white-fenced forest of blue and yellow houses I thought to myself, "Now I'm cool.  I was at MacArthur Park.  Everyone will know."

And everyone did know.  Including my parents.   The moment we walked in the door my brother announced, "Hey Mom, Dad!  Guess where we have been?  At MacArthur Park!"

Just like a little brother.

My mom looked at me with angry eyes.  My dad rounded the hall doorway, and spoke in his daddy-voice: deep, penetrating, like a preacher.
"Didn't we tell you not to go there, Karia?" 
"Yes, Daddy." 
"Then what do you have to say for yourself?"
"Nothing."
"Alright.  Well, have a seat.  We are going to talk."
I hated those talks.  They always preceded Daddy not sparing the rod. 

But there was mercy in the rod.  The mercy was that, before I received it, I knew exactly why it was coming.  The second mercy was that it never lasted longer than was necessary for me to get the point.  And the final mercy was that I learned to be a young lady who did not need to follow the crowd.

Daddy's discipline spoke to me, "Karia, this is where you belong.  Your reference point is here. The rules you must obey are here.  You are mine, and I love you." 

Have you ever experienced the loving hand of God's discipline?  Are you experiencing it right now? 
Maybe you have made a critical mistake, and you are suffering the consequences of it.  Maybe you are worried about tomorrow, because your yesterday and your today do not express faith in God.  You are still repeating the same mistakes that got you into this mess.         

The Scripture says, "Whom God loves, He disciplines" (Hebrews 12:6). And again God's Word says in Proverbs 3:12,  "For the Lord corrects those He loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom He delights."   If you are in the midst of divine discipline, know that He is doing it because you belong to Him, because He loves you too much to let you go your own destructive path. 

Where is your McArthur Park?  Where is the place in life where God has told you not to go, but where you would like to go anyway?  Is it divorce court?  Is it a second date with that wonderful guy?  Is it the loan department of your local bank?  Is it happy hour at the hotel bar? Stay away from the places God has told you not to go.  He He has given you these limitations because His plan for your life excludes hanging around in places which may be harmful to you, or with people who do not honor His standards. 

God disciplines you, just like my father disciplined me, because He wants His best for you.  You are His beloved daughter.  Before the world began He lovingly fashioned you, knowing the path your life would take, and He loves you too much to let you fall from His glorious design. Ephesians 2:10 proclaims our divine identity, "We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."

The Greek word "workmanship" has the same root as the English word "poem." It refers to a creation of some sort, a work of art; a masterstroke of brilliance.

In the mind of God, you are a creation far greater than Leonardo da Vinci's striking portrait Mona Lisa or Maya Angelou's poem Phenomenal Woman.  You are a masterwork more lovely than the Eiffel Tower of Paris and Rotterdam's Swan Bridge.  When the wind adorns your hair, the majestic plains of Africa pale in comparison to your beauty.  The Grand Canyon lacks the depth to search your soul.  You are a crowning creation; you are God's Picasso. 

My dear sister, take delight in God's design for you, accepting His discipline, so that you can truly become the woman He intends for you to be.

Intimate Conversation with J.J. Michael

J. J. Michael  is a numerologist, blogger and author who resides in Washington, D. C. She writes both non-fiction and fiction metaphysical/spiritual books: eBook Path to Truth: a Spiritual Guide to Higher Consciousness and Life is Never as It Seems and It’s Not Over Yet (Genesis Press). Do your books fall into the paranormal genre or more than one genre?All of the books would definitely fit nicely into this category. However, there are no vampires or werewolves, but angels and demons have major roles. Additionally, one or more of the main characters have psychic abilities. Although I let my imagination run wild, the majority of the paranormal events described in my books are realistic.

I put a lot of time in my characters making them authentic, and I use factual information about their paranormal abilities that add to their credibility. I want my readers to learn about metaphysics and the occult. There are so many people that have paranormal experiences such as ESP and clairvoyance but they think something is wrong with them or it is against their religious beliefs, and therefore they suppress them. Hopefully, my books will shed some light on the truth about the paranormal and spiritual laws.


What specific situation or revelation prompted you to write your lastes book?I had received many emails from readers asking me about one specific character that appeared in the first two books, Margaret Johnson Pierce, the mother of the main protagonist, Lindy Johnson Lee. Readers wanted to know if Margaret was "crazy" or just a "drama queen". Based on those letters, I decided to write Margaret's story. Secrets Unraveled takes you not only on a fictitious journey, but touches on such topics as colorism, social injustices, discrimination, mental illness, parapsychology and religious superstitions. These are the elements that make up Margaret's life story.


Synopsis of Secrets Unraveled:"Please go away,” Margaret Johnson Pierce pleaded with the voice inside of her head as she covered her ears with her hands, trying to block out the obscenities being hurled at her. But there was no getting away from it, just as there was no way she could escape from her husband, Pastor Alan Pierce, who knows her deepest secret.

Introduce us to your main characters, Secrets Unraveled.Margaret Johnson Pierce is the first lady of the prestigious Mt Olive Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. I'm sure you'll find her quite fascinating, but don't be surprised if she says or does a few bizarre things that are not sociably acceptable. At her father's funeral she tried to open his coffin and crawl inside with all the TV cameras on her. Of course, she became the talk of the town, but that was nothing compared to what she did to her husband, the Senior Pastor of the church. Is Margaret schizophrenic or a gifted psychic? That's what everyone wonders. Margaret had been hearing voices since she was a child. Her story of thirty years of family secrets and scandals climaxes in a sensational courtroom hearing.  


What are some of their specific issues or problems addressed in this book? A very strong issue in Secrets Unraveled is the main character’s relationships with her father, daughter, and the men in her life. Sometimes Margaret is the victim and other times she is the abuser. Besides the dynamics of human relationships two other strong issues are colorism and women’s inequity.  Margaret’s belief that her family is better than others, because of their fair-skin and straight hair, was instilled in her from childhood.  The reader will see how this belief played a major role in her life decisions.

By the time the readers read the last book, Secrets Unraveled, they will understand the origin of colorism and how it still keeps the African American community divided. Margaret has a dream to become a minister. But she is constantly denied her dream by the men in her life and societal rules.  I don’t want to give the story away, but Margaret learns against all odds what she must do to obtain her goal. Margaret’s life is an excellent example of the issues women face in today’s world.


Can you enlighten our readers on your work as a numerologist? How does it influence and/or enhance your work as a writer? When you read my books, you will always find a thread dealing with numbers. You will see 444 a lot in the books, meaning angel time.  My characters have birthdates and I have done their numerology charts. I tend to stay within their personality traits as I write about their escapades. Margaret Johnson was born on July 7.

As a Cancer, she is a water sign, and her ruling planet is the Moon. Cancerians run the entire gamut of human emotions, which clearly Margaret demonstrates in the book. On a personal note, I decided to drop my full name and just use my initials, J.J., based on the numerical vibration of the two letters (11), which means a teacher of lightwork and they are an alliteration. The titles of my books are also done according to numerology.
